What makes AstroStackerPro different
- Live stacking entirely on-device, up to 600 frames per session, building a deep image from many short exposures. Photo and video stacking, with average, median, or maximum combination.
- IMU-based derotation using the gyroscope to compensate Earth’s rotation during long integrations, plus automatic frame stabilization — key for untracked phone astrophotography.
- RAW & ProRAW capture, double exposure, intervalometer, focus peaking, and a red night mode for the field.
- On-board editor with denoise, sharpen, light-pollution removal, saturation, and night tonal recovery.
- Six guided presets: Moon, Jupiter, Saturn, starry sky, Andromeda Galaxy, and star trails.
- Plate-solving & sky recognition with constellation annotations laid right over your frame.
- Built-in astronomical planner: Bortle class for your location, Moon, tonight’s visible planets, “what to shoot tonight,” a meteor-shower calendar, cloud forecast, and a solar-safety warning.
- Export to JPEG and 16-bit TIFF.
- Privacy by design: on-device, no account, no analytics, no trackers.

Short (50 words)
AstroStackerPro is a new iPhone-native astrophotography app with on-device live stacking, IMU derotation, plate-solving, and an on-board editor. Developed solo by an Italian indie dev over the past year, it’s in public TestFlight beta with full privacy guarantees.
Medium (110 words)
AstroStackerPro is a new iPhone-native astrophotography app, built solo by an Italian indie developer who got tired of dragging a laptop into the field. It does live stacking on-device — stacking many short exposures until the night sky emerges from the noise. IMU-based derotation and automatic frame stabilization handle untracked long exposures. Plate-solving recognizes the sky and annotates constellations over your frame. The on-board editor includes denoise, sharpen, and light-pollution removal, with export to JPEG and 16-bit TIFF. Everything runs on-device: no account, no cloud, no analytics. It’s in public TestFlight beta now; the App Store release is planned at €3.99 up-front.
Long (220 words)
AstroStackerPro is an iPhone-native astrophotography app developed solo by an Italian indie engineer over the past year. The motivation is direct: existing solutions for iOS astrophotography are thin — NightCap handles long exposure but no multi-frame stacking, AstroShader stacks imported photos rather than your live session, Star Stacker is built around trails and timelapses, and serious workflows still require dragging a Windows laptop into the field with software like SharpCap. AstroStackerPro removes the laptop. The app captures long-exposure sequences and live-stacks them on-device — photos and video alike, up to 600 frames per session with average, median, or maximum combination. IMU-based derotation uses the gyroscope to compensate Earth’s rotation during long integrations, and automatic frame stabilization keeps the stack aligned — the combination is what typically kills untracked smartphone astrophotography. It captures in RAW and ProRAW and supports double exposure, an intervalometer, and focus peaking. Plate-solving recognizes the sky and annotates constellations over the frame. The on-board editor handles denoise, sharpen, light-pollution removal, saturation, and night tonal recovery — all on-device — with export to JPEG and 16-bit TIFF. A built-in planner rounds it out: Bortle class for your location, the Moon, tonight’s visible planets, a “what to shoot tonight” guide, a meteor-shower calendar, a cloud forecast, and a solar-safety warning. Privacy is by design: on-device, no account, no analytics, no trackers. It’s in public TestFlight beta at the time of writing; the App Store release is planned at €3.99 up-front, with an Android port already in early development.

About the developer
AstroStackerPro is developed solo by an independent engineer based in Italy. The project started as a personal frustration with the state of iOS astrophotography — specifically the lack of any real native live-stacking solution — and grew into a full app over the past year. The developer is reachable directly for technical questions, interviews, and press inquiries.
